Morningside’s Misiaszek named GPAC Pitcher of the Week

Morningside College senior Hallie Misiaszek (SR/Mitchell, SD) (Mitchell, S.D.) got the Great Plains Athletic Tournament week off to a flying start for the second-seeded Mustangs when she was named conference Pitcher of the Week Tuesday, April 30.

Misiaszek, whose 17 wins are second-highest in the league and is also second in earned run average (1.39) while her 105 strikeouts are fourth-best, turned in a phenomenal final week of the regular season helping lead the Maroon to a share of their fourth straight loop championship. The staff ace forged a 3-0 record and limited a University of Jamestown team hitting .320 on the season, good for third in the GPAC at the time, to no earned runs over 14 innings pitched while striking out 10 in route to decisions in both ends of the April 28 doubleheader.

Misiaszek and the Mustangs open conference tournament play against the College of St. Mary of Nebraska on their home Jensen Softball Complex field Thursday, May 2. Game time is approximately 12 p.m.
