(Audio) North Platte Wins A Pair of Games On The Road

LEXINGTON- North Platte headed east on I-80 for a girls and boys doubleheader against Lexington, and the Bulldogs came away with a pair of wins over the Minutemaids and the Minutemen. In the girl’s game, North Platte won 50-21 in a steady performance. North Platte jumped out to a 15-8 lead in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Gracie Haneborg put in seven points and the Lady Bulldogs led 26-11 at halftime. In the third quarter, North Platte expanded on their lead by outscoring Lexington 11-5 and entering the final period North Platte led 37-16. In the final quarter, the Lady Bulldogs closed the game out by outscoring Lexington 13-5.

North Platte was led by Gracie Haneborg and her 17 points. Lexington was led by six points by Klair Fagot. North Platte moves to 4-3 and will battle Lincoln North Star on Thursday. Lexington is now 1-6 and will face Ralston on Thursday. Click here to listen to the podcast.

In the boy’s game, it was a 67-61 win for North Platte as they hit 11 three-pointers in the victory. The Bulldogs were struggling in the first half as they were behind 24-18. It was a huge second half from North Platte as they recorded 49 points and eight threes in the second half to take down the Minutemen.

North Platte had three players in double figures as Kiya Kramer had 20 points, Steven Garcia recorded 19, and Caleb Horne attributed 14. Lexington was paced by 28 points from Nick Saiz. North Platte improves to 2-6 and will face Lincoln North Star on Thursday. Lexington is now 3-3 and will look to bounce back Thursday against Ralston.  Click here to listen to the podcast.
