Northeast Volleyball sweeps North Iowa Area

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College volleyball team (12-7, 5-1 ICCAC) got back to its winning ways on Wednesday night, topping North Iowa Area Community College in three sets (25-20, 25-17 and 25-20) at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

“Tonight we struggled to put the ball away in the first two sets and made a lot of attacking errors,” head coach Amanda Schultze said. “We picked it up offensively in the third. Overall it was a great win and we serve-received well and served well tonight.”

Kalli Brester (Howells, Neb.) led the offensive attack with 12 kills, while adding 11 digs. Elley Beaver (Columbus, Neb.) was a kill shy of a double-double with 14 digs and nine kills. Hannah Heppner (Stanton, Neb.) tallied nine kills and two blocks. Gabriela Barbosa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) pitched in 17 digs and Savannah Nelson (Wakefield, Neb.) had 34 assists.
