Omaha once led 7-2 at one point in the match, but Oral Roberts clawed its way back and eventually tied the set at 16-all. That was also part of a 5-0 stretch where the Golden Eagles took an 18-16 lead over Omaha. From that point on, Omaha never regained the lead and dropped the set 25-21 to force a fifth set.
Inside Set 5
The Mavericks immediately took control of the final set and forced an ORU timeout leading 9-2. The lead increased to 12-4 after Case recorded an ace. The match ended off an unexpected kill by libero Claire Mountjoy, who sealed the 15-8 win for Omaha.
Omaha earned the No. 3 seed in The Summit League Championship, which takes place in Denver, Colo. The Mavericks take on No. 6 North Dakota State on Friday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.
