SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Freshman setter Sydney Case garnered her third Summit League Offensive Player of the Week honor, the league office announced Monday.
Over the week, Case averaged 11.71 assists, 3.43 digs and 0.57 services aces per set.
The Lakeville, Minn., native is the first Maverick in the Division I era to win the weekly honor three times in one season.
In the 3-1 road win at South Dakota last Friday, she tallied a double-double of 38 assists and 13 digs with two aces. Case followed that performance with another double-double of 44 assists and 11 digs, with two more aces in the 3-0 sweep over Oral Roberts on Sunday. She now has four double-doubles on the season.
The Mavericks return to action Tuesday night in a showdown for first-place in the league against Denver. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside Baxter Arena.
