It was another successful meet for the Mitchell girls and boys track and field teams on Thursday as both Tigers teams finished in second place and qualified multiple athletes through to the state meet in Omaha.
The C-9 meet was held in Sutherland.
Mitchell freshman, Kadin Perez, stole the show on the boys side. The sprinter qualified in four events. Perez won the 200, 400, and finished second in the 100 meters. He also ran on Mitchell’s winning 4 x 100 meter relay team.
Justin Spencer finished in 3rd and qualified for state in the pole vault.
On the girls side for Mitchell it was Jori Peters once again shining on a big stage. The senior picked up a first place in the 800, a second in the open quarter and also ran on Mitchell’s mile relay team and 4 x 100 meter relay team.
