Wayne State College visits the University of Mary and Minot State in Northern Sun Conference men’s basketball this weekend in North Dakota. The Wildcats are 15-5 overall and tied for first in the NSIC South Division with a 10-4 league mark heading into Friday’s 7:30 p.m. matchup at Mary, who is 9-11 and 6-8 in the NSIC North. Minot State starts the weekend with records of 9-14 and 4-10 in league play. Last season, WSC beat the Marauders in Wayne 85-63 but lost at home to Minot State 69-68.
The Wayne State College women’s basketball team makes their longest road trip of the season this weekend, venturing to North Dakota to face the University of Mary Friday night at 5:30 p.m. and Minot State Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. contest. The Wildcats start the weekend at 13-7 overall and tied for third in the NSIC South with a 8-6 league mark with Mary at 11-6 overall and third in the NSIC North Division with a 9-5 conference record. Minot State starts the weekend at 9-11 and 4-10 in league games. WSC has won six straight meetings against Mary, including a 75-68 win in Wayne last season. The ‘Cats are 6-0 all-time against Minot State that includes a 72-52 win over the Beavers in Wayne last season.
