Wayne State travels to St. Paul and Mankato, Minnesota this weekend for NSIC South Division men’s basketball rematches against Concordia-St. Paul (Friday at 7:30 p.m.) and Minnesota State (Saturday 5:30 p.m.). The Wildcats enter Friday’s matchup vs. the Golden Bears at 17-7 overall and tied for first in the NSIC South with a 12-6 league mark. CSP is 8-16 and 3-15 in league play. Minnesota State starts the weekend at 16-8 on the season and tied for first in the South Division at 12-6 with WSC. Three weeks ago in Wayne, Minnesota State topped WSC 90-79 while the Wildcats defeated the Golden Bears 77-68.
The Wayne State College women’s basketball team visits Concordia-St. Paul Friday (5:30 p.m.) and Minnesota State (Saturday 3:30 p.m.) for NSIC South Division rematches this weekend. The Wildcat women look to snap a four-game losing skid entering this road trip. WSC is 13-11 overall and tied for fifth in the NSIC South Division at 8-10 in the league. CSP leads the NSIC South with records of 17-6 and 13-5 in the league while Minnesota State starts the weekend at 11-11 and one of three teams tied with WSC for fifth in the NSIC South at 8-10 in league play. Wayne State’s last win was a convincing 71-49 triumph over Concordia-St. Paul on January 27th in Wayne while Minnesota State used a shot with 1.8 seconds to play to edge the Wildcats 80-78 in Wayne January 26th.
