Wayne State College will play in the friendly confines of Rice Auditorium for the final time in the regular season this weekend hosting Southwest Minnesota State Friday at 6 p.m. and Sioux Falls Saturday at 4 p.m. in NSIC South Division contests.
The ‘Cats are 20-6 overall and second in the NSIC South at 14-4 while SMSU brings records of 5-16 and 4-14 NSIC to Wayne.
USF starts the weekend at 13-9 and 10-8 in league play. Earlier this season, WSC won 74-65 at Sioux Falls on December 30 and 76-60 in Marshall on New Year’s Eve.
The Wayne State College men’s basketball team will play at home for the final time this weekend as the Wildcats host Southwest Minnesota State Friday night at 8 p.m. and Sioux Falls Saturday in a 6 p.m. contest at Rice Auditorium.
The Wildcats are 13-13 and sixth place in the NSIC South at 8-10 heading into Friday’s matchup vs. the 17-7 Mustangs, who are second in the NSIC South with a 13-5 league mark.
USF enters the weekend at 16-8 and tied for third in the NSIC South at 11-7 in league play.
In the first meeting this season, WSC won Sioux Falls 78-66 followed by a 86-65 loss at Southwest Minnesota State on New Year’s Eve weekend.
