WSC to host Southwest Minnesota State on Homecoming

Wayne State College (3-2, 1-0 NSIC South) hosts Southwest Minnesota State (2-3, 0-1 NSIC South) Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the annual Homecoming/Hall of Fame Game played at Bob Cunningham Field in Wayne.

The Wildcats opened NSIC South Division play last weekend with a 16-13 win at rival Augustana while the Mustangs fell at home to then #7 Sioux Falls 24-10.

WSC enjoys a 20-8 lead in the all-time series against SMSU that started in the 1969 season.

Last year, the Wildcats won a wild 41-39 contest at Southwest Minnesota State while two years ago SMSU spoiled WSC’s homecoming with a 61-3 win.

The road team has won the last four games in the series and five of the last seven.
