Following a 16-14 season, the Lopers will look to improve, but they did lose four of their top scorers. A lot of young players and athletes with the previous playing time will have to step up for the Lopers to have success. The Lopers are also lacking size. UNK does have two athletes at 6’8, but no taller. A key for them will be to use their speed.

6’5 junior AJ Jackson is the leading returning scorer for UNK at about seven points per game. Jackson will be looked upon to score for the Lopers. Jackson shot the ball at 50% from the field and with more opportunities, he could carve out a nice season.

Junior Kyle Juhl appeared in all 30 contests last year for the Lopers. He averaged right around five points per game. Juhl is an athletic player that attacks the rim very well.

One athlete to really watch this season is Sam Morris. Morris took a medical redshirt last season and looks eager to play this year. As a freshman, he scored four points per game and grabbed one rebound. Late in games, Morris may be called upon to win games as he shoots at an 87% clip from the line.

The Lopers will open the season against 10th ranked Southern Nazarene tonight.
