It was a bit of a different Farm and Ranch Expo for 2021 this weekend, with pandemic-related measures in place, but it was success nonetheless.
The 36th annual event took place Friday and Saturday at the Vistabeam Events Center on the Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds in Mitchell.
KNEB Promotions Director Kendra Feather says even a change in the weather didn’t deter attendance. “I was nervous about the snow today, but we seem to have a lot of people coming in from all over. We’ve had people from Wyoming, from Bayard, from up north, a good variety of people coming in,” said Feather. “The vendors are pretty happy, and they’ve come in from nine different states.”
One of the changes this year was the lack of the kick-off breakfast Friday morning on recommendation from public health officials, but Feather says that led to attendance that was more spread out over both days.
She says some vendors told her that gave them a chance to have more time for in-depth conversations and make better connections with those who attended.
