70–year-old Bluffs man airlifted following Monday morning accident

The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff‘s Department continues to investigate a two vehicle Monday morning accident north of Scottsbluff.

Around 10:13  a.m., first responders were dispatched to a two vehicle accident near Sugar Factory Road and Lake Minatare Road.

Sheriff Mark Overman says a  Ford F-150 pickup driven by 69-year–old Clifford Walker of rural Scotts Bluff County was westbound on Lake Minatare Road.  Walker’s vehicle stopped at the stop sign, then proceeded into the intersection, where it collided with a northbound 2011 Mazda CX 9 driven by 70-year-old Raymond Schultz of rural Scottsbluff.

AirLink transported Schultz to Regional West Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.  No one else was transported.

Walker was cited for a stop sign violation. The Scottsbluff Rural Fire Department and Valley Ambulance also responded to assist.
