All-Inclusive Playground Coming to Mincks Park in York

June 22nd, 2020 | Amanda Mendoza

YORK- All members of the York City Council gave permission to a group of local residents to build an all-inclusive playground at Mincks Park. Fundraising for the project has already begun by the group, but getting the councils permission was the first step in getting the project rolling. The idea of an all-inclusive playground is that it will meet the needs of all people. The name of the playground will be number Peyton Parker Lane after local inspirational youth.

The group consulted with Crouch Recreation, which is owned by former Husker football great and 2001 Heisman Trophy winner, Eric Crouch. Crouch was at the meeting and said, “You can really feel the community involvement tonight.” Crouch also stated that it is his 17th year in building inclusive playgrounds and has made a visit to the site of the playground and thinks that the location is great.

If you would like to make a donation for the project, it can be mailed to the York Community Foundation at 603 North Lincoln Avenue  York, NE 68467 or you can go to yorkcommunityfoundation.org. When making donations, identify that it is for the project
