(AUDIO) Budget, Water Testing Discussed at West Point-Beemer End of the Month School Board Meeting

The West Point-Beemer School Board met for their end of the month board meeting in the District Office Tuesday morning. Superintendent Bill McAllister says the city has tested the water at the school.

McAllister says kids in pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade are drinking bottled water as the Department of Health recommends kids 6 years of age and younger drink bottled water.

The Board also Discussed the Budget

McAllister said.

McAllister says projections have the District asking for about $20,000 less than before.

The budget hearing is set for next Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

McAllister also gave an update on replacing the sound system for the Football Stadium and Track.

McAllister says the goal is to have the sound system, which is being funded by the Depreciation Fund, replaced in the next month and-a-half.

McAllister says he has also heard from Scribner-Snyder’s attorney regarding a potential consolidation, and expects they’ll hear more from them later regarding that.
