(AUDIO) CCC Students receive Coronavirus Financial Aid through the CARES Act

CCC Students Travis Andersen, of Clarkson, and Jamie Culver, of North Bend, are two of nearly 1,400 CCC students to receive a grant from the U.S. Department of Education as part of the CARES Act to assist with COVID-19 related expenses. Andersen tells KTIC News the assistance gave him everything he needed to do his coursework online.

Andersen says he received a total of $1,500.

Culver tells KTIC News the aid was a huge boost to her given the predicament she was in with her job at Methodist Fremont Health.

Culver says the aid really helped her and her daughter.

Andersen tells KTIC News this whole situation has allowed him to persevere.

Andersen is set to graduate in May with an Associates of Applied Science in Mechatronics Degree.

He works at Nor-Am in Schuyler part time and also farms. He is a father of 2.

Culver tells KTIC News that this whole pandemic has led her to experience a wide range of emotions.

Culver says she plans to graduate in May with her Associates Degree in Nursing.
