(AUDIO) Holidays May Bring Some New Scams for Senior Citizens

State Health Officials warn of some new scams that could target Senior Citizens around the Holidays due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. One of those Scams is the COVID-19 Vaccine Scam, according to Public Information Officer Barb Tyler.

Tyler says the other type of scam related to COVID is businesses calling Seniors to say they can clean and disinfect their house.

Tyler tells KTIC News this also includes email scams.

Tyler says if someone presses the subject on the phone it’s likely a scam and just hang up, or call the Better Business Bureau to try and get a phone number.

Tyler says Seniors should call their actual local Sheriff’s Office if they believe they are being scammed.

Tyler says any Senior who becomes victim of a scam should call authorities and tell them what happened and call the bank and stop payments if any money was given away.
