(AUDIO) Rutjens Construction Awarded Bid for Water Treatment Plant Improvement Project

The West Point City Council met in Special Session Monday night to consider bids for the Water Treatment Plant Improvement Project. The council went with Rutjens Construction out of Tilden for just under $1.55 Million. City Administrator Tom Goulette.

The other bid considered was from Industrial Process Technology out of Mitchell, SD for nearly $1.785 Million and an anticipated start date of March 9, 2020 and completion date of February 10, 2021.

Goulette says things could start ahead of schedule.

Goulette says once those two units are online they’ll be back up to full capacity, 2 million gallons a day.

He adds the hope is to start late next week if the city can get all the approvals through NDEE on State Revolving Loan Fund.
