(AUDIO) West Point City Council approves authorization to order new filters for the Water Treatment Plant Filtration System at Special Meeting

The West Point City Council met in special session Tuesday night, and approved authorization to order new filters for the Water Treatment Plant Filtration System. City Administrator Tom Goulette.

The motion was made by councilman Tom Swenson and seconded by council member Jerry Hugo.

Goulette on the timeline.

Goulette says total cost will be over $700,000.

Goulette says 3 filters will be ordered, which will give them 3 million gallons of capacity per day.

A statement from the State Health Department is expected to come either Wednesday or Thursday regarding manganese in the system and what those requirements are going to be and what their recommendation to the public is going to be, according to Goulette. The city will post that statement and send it out to the public.
