Last night at the York City Council meeting there were many discussions presented including the yearly budget. A topic that received a lot of attention was the potential in outsourcing the ballpark concessions, Mayor Barry Redfern says that they want to weigh their options in for the future in that particular operation.
Outsourcing the concessions would add $4,000 to budget expenses. No decision was made on the ballpark concessions as it will be revisited in the coming weeks.
The council also talked about the improvements being made around town and that workers were able to begin to start work on 19th street in town. Redfern says housing is the focus with improvements in town.
York could also see themselves in a project that NPPD is conducting. The city of York plans to sign a letter of intent to go forth with this project. The city has to provide 15-20 acres of land for the project and this program makes a town a “Green Energy Community.”
