Civil Lawsuit Dismissed In York County

YORK- A civil lawsuit that was seeking unspecified damages against Jaimie Bishop, a former facility worker at Epworth Village in York has been dismissed. According to York County Court records, parents of a 15-year old boy who was staying at Epworth Village filed a lawsuit in 2017,  accusing administrators at the Epworth Village facility of vicarious liability, negligent supervision, and negligence after saying a female staff member sexually assaulted the teen many times.

Bishop, a former Epworth Village employee, was sentenced to 10-16 years in prison for sexual assault of a child in 2017. Bishop also gave birth to a child in December 2015 and DNA tests show the teen is the father of the child. In a court document filed Monday, the civil lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice. That means the lawsuit could be filed again at a later date.
