WEST POINT- The Cuming County Board of Supervisors met in regular session over Zoom on Tuesday morning, April 28.

A total of eight applicants were awarded the Lois Wegner Memorial Scholarship. Per committee request, the scholarship will go towards credits spent on music courses, and will be worth $181.25, with a max scholarship of $1,500 per individual.

The supervisors awarded aid in the amount of $3,000 to the John Stahl Memorial Library, Karlan Memorial Library and Harold R. Jordan Memorial Library.

District Court Clerk Laura Wagner was at the meeting to request the appointment of Jeanette Norton as Deputy Clerk of District Court. Wagner also asked that Norton’s position be moved to full time. The Supervisors approved the appointment to Deputy Clerk, but will make a decision regarding it being a full time or part time position at next month’s meeting. The Deputy tag carries a pay raise to 65 percent of the hourly rate of the Clerk of the District Court.

A public hearing was held on an amendment to the 2019-2020 fiscal budget, specifically the disaster budget. The approved amendment gave the County the authority to cover certain expenses.

The Supervisors agreed to forward a Louis and Abby Faye Dinklage application for the Smile in Style Children Oral Health Program, as well as an application for the St. Paul Lutheran School technology project.

Part two of the meeting will be held Wednesday morning at 9:00 am.
