A 30-year-old Gering man has been arraigned on charges following an early Friday morning pursuit throughout Gering.
Court documents say police initially were dispatched to 20th Street for a Jeep revving its engine around 4 a.m. When officers arrived, they saw the Jeep heading southbound and swerving in its lane.
Police tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued at speeds above the posted speed limit. After 25 minutes, driver James Thorpe stopped on Langley Avenue.
Officers learned the Jeep had been reported stolen from Wyoming, and now Thorpe is facing charges including felony flight to avoid arrest, theft by receiving stolen property, willful reckless driving, and driving under suspension.
A preliminary hearing has been set for August 20th in Scotts Bluff County Court.
