Google hosting eastern Nebraska Data Center groundbreaking

Local, State and Google company leaders will be on hand Friday morning as ground is broken for a new Google data center in Papillion.

Governor Pete Ricketts, Congressman Don Bacon, Papillion Mayor David Black and officials representing Sarpy County, Omaha Public Power District, the Greater Omaha Chamber, and Google representatives are scheduled for the event at 10 a. m.

Google announced in February that it was expanding to Nebraska, with the data center representing a $600M investment in the state’s economy.
