Group Care Facilities Within Residential Areas in York will need Special Use Permits

June 22nd, 2020 | Amanda Mendoza

YORK- When it comes to group homes within residential areas in the city of York, special use permits will need to be used. The decision comes as the York City Council and all its members voted to pass three ordinances that will require special use permits for group care homes. With that being said, the New Life Place, a group care facility that has been addressed at a number of City Council meetings, will have to file a request to be heard for a special use permit. For a  facility like this to operate and exist, they must be granted the special use permit.
