Lincoln Man Sentenced in Burglary Case

YORK-Jay A Monson of Lincoln, Nebraska pleaded no contest in a burglary case as he broke into a York couple’s home while they were asleep. According to court records, on August 10th, 2018 the York Police department was contacted by the couple, once they discovered someone broke into the home.

Items that were missing in the home included a Dewalt Saws-All, a bottle of “Mother” car cleaning product, and a grill cleaning set.” Specific items that were taken included a debit card, a gas card, the pin number for the gas card, a veteran’s card, a AAA card, and other miscellaneous cards. Shortly thereafter, Cornerstone Bank indicated that the stolen debit card had attempted to be used at the ATM machine at the South Cornerstone Bank branch, located near the G Force Car Wash just off of Interstate 80 in York, Nebraska. Had the crime been successful, Cornerstone Bank would have been the victim who would be out the $800.00.

Monson was sentenced to three years probation and 30-days in jail starting immediately.
