Authorities are searching for a Scottsbluff man who pleaded guilty to a meth distribution charge earlier this year after failing to show up to his Friday sentencing.

44-year-old Scott Biery was scheduled to be sentenced on October 4th on a Class 2 Felony charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine. His attorney requested a continuance for the sentencing after Biery no-showed, but District Judge Andrea Miller denied that request and issued a bench warrant for his arrest.

Biery was pulled over in January for a traffic violation on Highway 71, and troopers ultimately found 13.4 grams of meth, several syringes, and approximately two ounces of marijuana.

Biery and  passenger Ramona Prime were both  arrested for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of meth with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana more than an ounce but less than a pound and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Prime was sentenced to 18 month of probation earlier this year after pleading no contest to an amended charge of Attempted Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Biery faces up to 50 years in prison on the Class 2 Felony charge once he’s back in custody.
