York County Attorney Named

YORK COUNTY- A lawyer from Douglas County has been named York County Attorney. John Lyons, who is currently an assistant Douglas County public defender, was sworn in as the York County Attorney this morning (Thursday) at 8:45 A.M.

Lyons graduated from the Mississippi College School of Law in 2013 and then had his own law practice in Jackson Mississippi from 2013-2018. He began working in Douglas County in February of 2018. Lyons will fulfill the remainder of the four-year term that Christopher Johnson resigned a few weeks ago, which has three years remaining. He can run for election at that time.

Johnson resigned to pursue professional opportunities.
