Plea agreement reached in case involving a Waco man and terroristic threats

YORK COUNTY- Schuyler Tomes, 30, of Waco has pleaded no contest to one count of terroristic threats which is a Class 3A felony. He initially was also charged with three more counts of terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony and driving under revocation. Those counts were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

According to court documents on August 16th, 2019, a deputy with the York County Sheriffs Department was flagged down by four children and they said they were playing in a park when a male in a white pickup pointed a handgun at them and fired a bullet in the air. Also according to court documents, a 9 mm Luger casing was located not he ground in the immediate vicinity.

Sentencing for Tomes will be held on October 26th.
