Power Outage In York Sunday Afternoon Affects Over 2,600 residents

YORK-  Sunday afternoon at 12:57 P.M.  a transformer in Nebraska Public Power Districtss York southwest substation tripped disrupting power for 2,612 customers, according to Mark Becker, NPPDs supervisor of media services. The power outage affected the York interchange and as far down as North Lincoln Avenue. The entire downtown was without power which did include the traffic lights having issues.

Becker also said that NPPD crews restored the power quickly and customers had electricity back at approximately 1:30 P.M. Today (Monday), the NPPD staff will be troubleshooting what caused the issue.
