Preliminary Hearing Set For Alleged Waco Shooting Incident

YORK- A preliminary hearing has been set for a man who is accused of five felonies. Schuyler Tomes, 30, of Waco, is charged with three counts of terroristic threats, each a Class 3A felony, use of a firearm to commit a felony, a Class 1C felony, which carries up to 50 years in prison and driving under revocation, a Class 4 felony.

The incident happened on August 16th when the York County Sheriff’s Department was flagged down by four children in Waco. The children said that they were playing in the park, in the 300 block of Midland Street when a male pointed a handgun at them, then proceeded to fire the weapon in the air.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 15th at 3:00 P.M. in York County Court.
