Scottsbluff Pursuit Ends With Apprehension In Wyoming

A 24-year-old man is in custody in Wyoming following a chase early Friday morning that started in Scotts Bluff County and ended in Torrington.

Around 1:45 a.m., Scotts Bluff County Deputies were called to the Days Inn for a disturbance and altercation in which a woman was possibly been kidnapped by a male driving a motorcycle.

While unable to make initial contact with neither the victim nor suspect, about 20 minutes the male subject returned with a female allegedly and may be armed with a handgun.

The male subject along with the female fled westbound on Highway 26 from the Days Inn. Scottsbluff Police Officers observed the male suspect and female on the motorcycle westbound near Highway 26/E. 27th Street.

A traffic stop was attempted and the male driver fled west on Highway 26. Scottsbluff Police Officers along with Scotts Bluff County Deputies pursued the motorcycle west through Mitchell, Morrill and Henry at speeds in excess of 90 mph. Upon entering Wyoming, authorities from Goshen County took over the pursuit. The suspect was apprehended in Wyoming approximately 10 minutes later.

It was found the female was not a victim of a kidnapping, the male subject was arrested on charges in Wyoming related to the pursuit and a warrant is being sought for charges in Nebraska relating to the disturbance and the subsequent pursuit. No injuries were reported in the incident.

24 year old Seth Hilburn held in Wyoming on misdemeanor charges of Fleeing to Elude a Police Officer and 2nd or Subsequent Offense of Driving While Under Suspension.
