February 3rd, 2020 | Amanda Mendoza

OMAHA- Jack Eugene Knight, 54, who once resided in York, has been sentenced in federal court for two counts of receiving child pornography and two counts of possessing child pornography. Knight has been sentenced to 400 months in prison, just over 33 years, by United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. With this being in the federal system, there is no parole.

In November of 2017, a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploiting Children led the Department of Homeland Security to investigate Knight for committing federal offenses of child exploitation. Federal agents executed a search warrant of Knights van on August 22nd, 2018. Knight was living in the van at the time and agents seized two cell phones, one laptop, and multiple external storage devices, that Knight admitted had child pornography on. Knight also told agents he had had a storage unit in Lincoln with more devices that had child pornography on.  Three more laptops were found at the storage unit.

On September 24th, 2018, Knight was arrested in Valley following initial forensics. When arrested, Knight had a new cell phone and admitted additional child pornography was on the device. On all of Knights devices, there were more than 8,000 images and 3,000 videos of child pornography. This included children under the age of 12 and prepubescent minors engaging in sex acts.

Knights prior convictions include: Attempted Sexual assault of a Child in 1996, Lancaster County, Third-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, 2013 in York County, and Possession With Intent to Distribute Visual Depiction of Sexually Explicit Acts, in 2013 in York County. Knight is also a registered sex offender in the state of Nebraska.
