Traffic Stop In Merrick County Results In Locating Variety Of Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia

MERRICK COUNTY- On January 19th, at approximately 12:44 P.M. a deputy with the Merrick County Sheriffs Department initiated a traffic stop on Highway 30 and Highway 92. The Deputy found over two pounds of leaf marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, more than 60 THC wax concentrate containers, more than 20 THC shatter packages, and 14 THC vape cartridges.

Two people were arrested. The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Jose Ortega Orozco, of Colorado was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no operators license. Also arrested was a Colorado woman, 22-year-old Leah McFadden and was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
