Unified Command Announcing 215 New Cases; Zero New Deaths Since Monday

Unified Command announced during their Thursday afternoon that the Panhandle has seen 215 new COVID cases, and zero additional confirmed deaths since last reporting Monday.

The new cases by county are as follows:

  • Banner- 3
  • Box Butte- 21
  • Cheyenne- 23
  • Dawes- 12
  • Deuel- 6
  • Garden- 2
  • Grant- 2
  • Kimball- 30
  • Morrill-9
  • Scotts Bluff- 85
  • Sheridan- 20
  • Sioux- 1
  • Under Investigation – 1

While there were no confirmed deaths to report Thursday, PPHD Director Kim Engel says 26 deaths are pending.

The Panhandle has seen 764 active cases in the past 14 days, with  36 active hospitalizations.

PPHD’s Tabi Prochazka says COVID vaccines are making their way to the Panhandle, and should be ready for frontline workers as early as next week.

The Panhandle Public Health District also noted there were some changes to their COVID Dashboard, including breaking numbers down to weekly confirmed cases instead of highlighting new cases by day.
