York City Council Meeting, November 19th, 2020

York City Council Meeting, November 19th, 2020

York – City Council started off with a mention of a meeting next week on Tuesday. On Tuesday, November 24th, the Board of Health will be meeting at the Holthus Convention Center to talk about a possible mask mandate for the city of york. The meeting will start at 7 pm.

Also on the agenda was a petition to annex the property of Stephen Postier, who recently won an election to city council. Due to the deadline of being sworn in by December 3rd, Postier proposed a special meeting, to get three readings of the proposal which is needed to annex the property in time. Many councilmembers and citizens however, posed concerns that Postier was not technically a citizen of york when filing to be on the ballot for city council. Many also posed the idea that Postier should have known about the annexation deadline and gone through the process to do so long before they had won the election.

Thursday was also Ron Mogul, and Ron Saathoff’s last meetings as council president, and councilmember respectively.
