YORK COUNTY- Just eight counties in the state of Nebraska had lower unemployment rates than York County in December. According to the Nebraska Department of Labor, the county’s unemployment rate was 2.2 percent which is lower than November’s 2.5 percent. 2.5 percent was the unemployment rate for the entire year of 2018.
The eight counties with lower rates than York County were Buffalo, Chase, Cherry, Custer, Kearney, Pawnee, Stanton, and Wayne. For the state, the unemployment rate was at 3.1 percent for December, which is unchanged from November.
