York Police Department Investigating Break-Ins Downtown

YORK- The York Police Department is currently investigating a high volume of break-ins and break-in attempts at businesses in downtown York. The department is also asking the public to report suspicious activity or information for who could be responsible.

Chief of Police Ed Tjaden says, “over approximately the last five weeks, the police department has been investigating multiple complaints of overnight break-ins and/or attempted break-ins at local downtown businesses.” A total of 15 instances have been reported Tjaden mentioned as well.  He also said they cannot state with certainty that every one of the break-ins was the same suspect. With each instance damage to properties has been reported as well.
