CLARKS- In front of 2,000-plus fans, the Osceola-High Plains Stormdogs and Cross County Cougars gave what the spectators paid for, an instant classic. The Stormdogs came away with the victory in this 34-30. Jumping ahead to the fourth quarter, Cross County found themselves behind 27-22 with 10:06 remaining in the ball game. But a seven-play drive in which Cael Lundstrom found Christian Rystrom on a 23-yard pass for a score allowed the Cougars to go up 30-27 with 5:37 remaining in the game.
That was just enough time for the Stormdogs to drive the field on 10 plays and punch it in on a three-yard touchdown score by Keaton VanHousen to reclaim the lead 34-30. The Cougars then turned it over on downs, and Osceola-High Plains kneeled it twice to ice the game.
For OHP Keaton VanHousen unofficially had 28 carries for 240 yards and three scores. Cross County unofficially rushed for 168 yards. The Cougars end the season at 7-5.
