BDS advances to the semifinals of Class D2

SHICKLEY – For the second time in 2020, the BDS Eagles took on the Kenesaw Blue Devils. Back in October, BDS beat Kenesaw by 19 points, and in the semifinals in Class D2, BDS took care of the Blue Devils again winning 60-27.

Kenesaw came out of the gates well, scoring on their first possession with a short run by junior back Tyson Denkert. Kenesaw took a 6-0 lead, but shortly after BDSs Dominic Phillippi found the endzone for the first of three total rushing touchdowns in the game for the junior. The score gave the Eagles an 8-6 advantage, and they wouldnt look back.

Phillippi scored once more in the first quarter and he added another touchdown in the second. All together, he had 165 yards rushing, and added a touchdown pass to junior Zach Hoins.

Easton Weber also had two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving. He had 91 yards on the ground.

Kenesaw ends their season at 8-2. Denkert led the way with 231 yards and two touchdowns.

BDS, now at 10-0 on the season will host Central Valley in the semifinals. The game time and location is to be announced.
