The Briar Cliff women’s volleyball team has announced the signing of Victoria Andre to its 2020 roster. Andre is a senior at Vermillion High School in Vermillion, South Dakota, where she has earned four varsity volleyball letters.

“We are excited to have Toria on our squad next year at The Cliff,” said head coach Lindsey Weatherford. “She is an exciting middle blocker and we are eager to watch her develop her skills throughout her time here. Her potential is endless and she is an athletic local athlete who can bring a large amount of talent to our team.”

As a junior and senior, Andre was named the Offensive Player of the Year for her high school team and was also named to the all-region 4A team both seasons. Andre earned all-conference and academic all-state honors as a senior.

In addition to her involvement in athletics, Andre is involved in 4H, show choir, Character on Track, National Honor Society and Students for Life. She is also on the honor roll.

Andre is the daughter of Kent and Cathy Andre.

Briar Cliff women’s volleyball head coach Lindsey Weatherford has announced the singing of Jaice Johnson to the 2020 squad. Johnson is a native of Logan, Iowa and is a senior at Logan-Magnolia High School.

“We are extremely happy that Jaice chose Briar Cliff,” said Weatherford. “She is an extremely well-rounded student and a multi-sport athlete that will contribute to our team and the BCU community immensely! Jaice’s talent on the court and attitude toward her teammates and coaches is unparalleled and she will fit into our system well at The Cliff!”

Johnson has earned 11 varsity athletic letters with four each in volleyball and cheer and three in golf. She is also a four-time academic varsity letter winner. As a junior, Johnson was named to the honorable mention all-conference volleyball list as well as to the all-district golf team. In her senior season, Johnson earned second-team all-conference honors.

Johnson is also involved with a dance academy and is a member of the National Honor Society and the Gold Honor Roll.
