Briar Cliff Volleyball picked to finish 11th in GPAC

The GPAC has released its preseason coaches poll for the 2019 volleyball season. Northwestern tallied 119 points and was picked to finish first in the conference. Briar Cliff earned 24 points and was tabbed 11th.

“In order for us to find success in the GPAC this season we will need to stay consistent through the year,” said first-year head coach Lindsey Weatherford. “There are a lot of high-level teams in this conference and we will have to play our best volleyball every match in order to compete.”

The Chargers went 11-16 last season and missed the GPAC tournament. BC will kick off the season at the Midland Tournament on August 16 and will play its first game at the Newman Flanagan Center on September 11.

The 2019 GPAC volleyball season will consist of 16 conference matches with 12 teams competing for the conference crown. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team in the preseason poll. The full polls can be found below. The full story from the GPAC can be found here.
