BRLD Boys Avenge Early Loss to Howells-Dodge in EHC Quarters

OAKLAND – Bancroft-Rosalie/Lyons-Decatur avenged an early season loss loss against Howells-Dodge by defeating the Jaguars 59-40 in the quarterfinals of the boys East Husker Conference basketball tournament aired on 107.9 The Bull Tuesday night.

The Wolverines jumped out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter.

Howells-Dodge was able to calm the storm in the second quarter, and held BRLD to just four points, while scoring 11 of their own. At halftime, BRLD’s lead was cut to 22-19.

The game stayed close in the third quarter, as BRLD led 37-30 after three.

But the Wolverines went off for 22 points in the fourth quarter, compared to 10 for H-D, and BRLD was able to pull away for the 59-40 win.

Dylan Beutler had 17 points for BRLD, with Elliott Nottleman scoring 15 and Lucas Vogt adding 11.

Blake Sindelar had 17 points for Howells-Dodge.

BRLD will meet Oakland-Craig in the EHC semifinals at Midland University in Fremont on Friday.

Howells-Dodge will play a consolation game on Friday.
