The girls matchup featured a couple of top-10 teams in Class B with #1 and undefeated Crete looking to go 2-0 on the year vs #6 York. The Cardinals got out to a strong start leading 16-2 at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back. unofficially Hannah Newton had 24 points for Crete to lead the way in capturing their now 20-0 record. In the boys game, it was oddly similar, as a quick start from Crete doomed the Dukes and they could never recover. Josiah Gardiner unofficially scored 14 points for Crete who improves to 10-9 and York was led by Reed Malleck and his 11 points and three three-pointers. York is now 7-16 this season.

Cretes squads will play Platteview Thursday and Aurora Friday. York will finish their regular season on Friday against Seward. The Dukes and Blue Jays can be heard on KOOL Radio, 103.5 FM and 1370 AM.
