Cross County Cougars win two over T-Wolves

EXETER – The Cross County Cougars won both games on Friday on Senior Night at Exeter-Milligan. In the girls game, freshman Shyanne Anderson had 5 three-pointers and finished with a game-high 18 points for Cross County (18-4) in the 42-35 win over Exeter-Milligan (20-4). The Lady Cougars led wire-to-wire in the win and were aided by a strong fourth quarter where they made eight free throws. Erica Stratman added 10 points, Chloe Sandell had 6, and Courtlyn Schaefer scored 4. Exeter-Milligan was led by Cameron Jansky who had 11 points, and Emma Olsen put in 10. Cross County and Exeter-Milligan head in to their respective sub-district postseason games next week.

In the boys game, Cross County (19-3) scored over 15-points in every quarter as they too led wire-to-wire over Exeter-Milligan (6-15) 69-41. Cougars leading scorer Cory Hollinger and the Timberwolves leading scorer Jackson Beethee had their own scoring contest. Hollinger finished the game with 21 points, and Beethee had 20, but it would be Cross County taking the win. Cougars Haiden Hild had 12 points. Next week, Cross County takes on Friend on the road on 2/19. Exeter-Milligan will finish the regular season next Friday the 19th at Dorchester.
