Cross County Sweeps SRC

The Cross County Lady Cougars (1-1) picked up its first win of the season Thursday night over the Shelby-Rising City Huskies in a 3-0 sweep

Senior Erica Stratman had her best performance of the young season so far, finishing with 12 kills for Cross County, and senior Courtlyn Schaefer added 10 kills herself.

It was all Cross County in set one,  winning 25-10. Schaefer and Stratman both had 4 kills in set one. The second set was a little closer 25-15, and the third set was the closest with Cross County winning 25-21.

For the Huskies, they were led by senior outside hitter Reece Ingalls who finished with five kills in the contest.

Next, the Cross County Cougars travel to BDS on Sept. 8, and Shelby-Rising City goes to Aquinas Catholic on Sept. 10.
