Dukes win B6 District, Scheierman finishes with 22 kills

YORK – The District B6 final took place at York High School on Saturday with the 6-seed York Dukes and the 11-seed Hastings Tigers. Hastings took the first set of the match 25-19, but the Dukes won the next three 25-16, 25-21 and 25-16 to take the title.

Junior Masa Scheierman knocked 22 kills in the contest. Senior Addison Legg added 8 kills. Hastings was led by Dacey Sealy who had 13 kills.

York moves to 27-8 on the season, and will play in the Class B state tournament in Lincoln starting on Wednesday. The team and the exact time is to be announced. Hastings finished the season with a 16-17 record.
