Els named GPAC Special Teams Player of the Week

Senior Bo Els (SR/Erie, CO) (Erie, Colo.), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ leader in punt return yardage average, made it three Great Plains Athletic Conference Special Teams’ Player of the Week awards in as many weeks for Morningside College Monday. Oct. 28.

Els helped spark the top-ranked American Football Coaches Association/NAIA Mustangs to a 69-0 win at Dakota Wesleyan University Oct. 26. He took a Tigers’ punt back 40 yards for his second return touchdown of the season on the final play of the first quarter to stake the visitors to a two-score lead. Els, who averages 19.6 yards per return chance, tallied 33 yards on five attempts to go along with three catches for 92 yards and a touchdown in his receiving work.

Els joins freshmen Joshua Miller (FR/Lincoln, NE) (Lincoln, Neb.) and Chase Carter (FR/Knoxville, IA) (Knoxville, Iowa) in gaining conference special teams’ weekly honors this season.
