Just five shots is all that separated the Gering and Scottsbluff girls golf teams on Tuesday at the Sidney Invitational.
Gering, playing in their second tournament of the season, was able to take home the team trophy with a combined score of 338 while Scottsbluff, debuting for the year, was just a few strokes back in second place with a team score of 343.
The two teams combined for eight of the top 10 spots on the individual leaderboard.
The next closer score belonged to Ogallala with a 372, nearly 30 shots back of second place.
The winner yesterday was Ogallala’s Harley Hiltibrand, who posted a round of 75.
Scottsbluff’s Emily Kryzanowski was just one shot back, she finished second with a 76.
Then came a trio from Gering. Madi Schlaepfer (80), Avery Mitchell (83), and Ali Boswell (85) finished in the 3-5 spots.
Carson Hauschild of Scottsbluff was sixth and teammate Halle Shaddick was seventh.
