McCool Junction shuts out Hampton, McDonald scores five rushing touchdowns

HAMPTON – Running back Owen McDonald scampered for 238 yards on just seven carries, as his McCool Junction Mustangs (6-0) beat the Hampton Hawks (2-5) 80-0.

McDonald scored twice in the first quarter, and three times in the second quarter. His team held a 60-0 lead at the half. Chase Wilkinson also had one rushing touchdown in the first quarter.

From there, Dylan Reiken took the reigns at the running back spot. He scored twice in the third quarter.

Along with McDonalds night, Reiken finished with 64 yards rushing, and Ryland Garretson had 53 yards and one touchdown.

Hampton was lead by Andrew Adams who had 22 yards rushing.

Overall, McCool Junction finished with 419 total offensive yards. Hampton finished with 44 total yards.

McCool Junction, the number one team in Class D6, will move on to play Dorchester (5-1) next week. While Hampton hosts Shantee.
